Make sure you put a roundel on it! Captured!  ;D

Great work, thus far!

...................Captured?
Yes, but not a roundel - paint a "Balkenkreuz" on each side, - the German captured a Landy   ;)

I'n not sure about putting crosses on it but I want to put the weights and serial number on. I'll print something on the computer and make a stencil. Only since I made the picture in my OP, I've forgotten the font needed to do it. Anyone know what font this is?

Doubt there is any such animal, unless someone has retro designed it. This predates the notion of "font" as used in modern parlance. In olden times (pre Macintosh), "font" was strictly a typesetting term, the etymology comes from the idea that the type was cast in lead (foundry); sign painters and graphic artists had their own conventions which borrowed sometimes from lead typography to be sure but were not confined to following a "font"...

Sorry not meant to be a rant...

I'm sure you're correct, Bo. I just needed something with the wiggly bits of the g in the right place and so-on. I found something similar enough and pulled it about a bit in Photoshop.

It's just about finished. It could use some paint on the wheels though. I have decided against putting crosses on it. Unfortunately there are still morons about who don't know the difference between an Iron Cross and a swastika, so, combined with the German lettering for the weights they could put two and two together and their maths will be wrong. I don't want to get my face punched in, or the motor smashed up so I'll be leaving it as is. As it is anyone who knows knows and anyone who doesn't just thinks it's owner must be smoking something strange.  :P

I took it to a local Land Rover show today and was pleased when someone actually said "is that WW1 German aeroplane camouflage".  ;D

I ran out of time to make a couple of Spandaus out of drain pipe and put the spare tyre in the back and the guns on the bonnet. Next year, maybe...  ;)

you are right squiffy. most people are in fact ignorant to the difference between an iron cross and a swastika. my model local ipms chapter meets monthly at a local restaurant and have our meeting including show and tell in the back room. i bring my models by regularly and a couple of the employees asked if i was a nazi because the models all have nazi crosses on them. i dont even build ww2 kits so i was a bit astounded. you are right to not paint the national markings, its just asking for some ignorant stooge to damage your property.
