It would certainly stand out! I think it looks pretty cool actually.

The biggest problem is that I have no idea as to how to paint it so. I guess there is a key area of the pattern that repeats itself, so I could make a template, but my brain hurts trying to work it out.  :P

I've sussed it! There are 6 horizontal rows and if I take 3 adjoining pieces of each row they can be placed side by side to repeat as neccessary. So I can make templates by printing onto paper and then cut out and glue onto card. Mark around all over the areas to be covered and then paint each lozenge individually by hand.

Even if I never paint the Land Rover I've learned something about this pattern that will help when cutting decals to get around awkward places.

That would be one very cool looking Landy, I hope you get around to doing it.

I made a start this morning but then, as you can see, rain stopped play.  >:(

Lovely idea, Squiffy. And Umlaufmotor has just said what I wanted to say about the undersides...  ;)

The Lozenge Police will be along shortly  ;D
Great progress.

What material are you using for the paint masks? Mylar?

I'm not masking, I'm using the picture I posted at the top, blown up to A4 size, to copy from, and a felt tip pen to draw the pattern on by hand.

It looks a little rough close up but your average caravanner won't notice when it's on his tail and the tracer starts flying.  ;D

I've been out doing some more but the great British Summer has put an end to that.  >:(

I managed to get one side almost done before the rain.

The colours aren't quite right but, when I went into B&Q and asked the shop staff for the colours for Luftstreitkrafte 5-colour lozenge, all I got was a puzzled expression.  ;D

The lozenge is as far forward as it's going. The rest of the nose will have blocks of purple, as on the Fokker D.VII at Hendon. As you can see, I haven't cleaned the wheels at all so they won't be getting any paint until I do. They need a serious degreasing first.

Fantastic! You will definitely get noticed when you pull that vehicle up to the valet at the opera house!
