Bend it like Buckles
« on: June 06, 2014, 07:26:50 PM »
 :o

If there is enough interest, I hope to produce rounded masking strips from thin flexible vinyl that the modeller can cut to their desired length. I think these will help with all those bendy jobs we modellers love to engage in ;-)

Cheers,
Bob

I would be interested in curved tapes - I have used your "strippers" and found that they flex a little to make curves as long as the radius isn't too tight.

Very cool idea, Bob!  Looking at the last photo, I would think concentric ovals would give you the most 'usable' variations.
Cheers,
Bud

Yeah!  That's what I'm talkin' about!  Put me down for some of those.  I'll be doing Barker's Snipe in 1/48 scale in the near future and plan on painting the stripes.  These will make things a bit easier.

Cheers,
Bud

I wouldn't mind all of those sets. The french curves (burmeister molds?) are still in use by me to draw and cut all kinds of curves out of masking tape. But a set of these curved tape lining is a very attractive addition to my set of equipment.

Back at school I had drawing lessons on a large drawing board using a mark hook (?) and large transparant triangles. I still have to master autocad or something similar.

regards,
Ivo
