Very nice Squiffy!
BTW, the blue/red Albatross of Beaulieu von Marconnay is Jasta 15 colours, not 19.

Ian

I did think that, Ian but the Eduard instructions say Jasta 19 and I believe Von Beaulieu-Marconnay did command Jasta 19, so I assumed they knew what they were talking about. It all gets a bit complicated with Jastas 15/18 so maybe whoever wrote the instructions got confused in the fog of war and made a typo...  ???

It being from 15 is all the better because I'll have 3 machines in their colours when I build the yet-to-be-started Fok. D.VII that I've got in the group build.

Both Jastas had blue fuselages, red nose was 15, green nose was 19. (Source: W/S Datafile Fokker D.VII Anthology)

You have realy an amazing collection of very nice executed models!

The SSW is may favorite too. But the Strutter is only short behind it.
A model thrives on its overall impression and not on that every little disagreement over the original is hyped up as a disaster

Very clever, Squiffy!

Great work on the Airfix kit as well.

Thanks for the nice comments.  :)

Here is my latest finished build. One of Charles Nungesser's Nieuport 17s, built from an Eduard kit.

Well Squiffy,
Another really well done build in record time! You are certainly the most prolific modeler on the site! Love the pilot also!

Here's another! Revell Albatros D.III. I replaced the kit wheels with a pair of Roden spares and painted it as the mount of Lt. Hermann Frommherz of Jasta Boelcke. The guns are also replacements for the very poor kit parts and I fitted a Roden engine and exhaust (not that you can see them in this photo but I've had camera problems and will get some more in due course...)

Re: Squiffy's Kites (1:72) Sopwith Dolphin & AVRO 504K trainer
« Reply #104 on: November 14, 2014, 08:40:00 AM »
It's been a learning experience but the Dolphin is finished, save for the mounting of the Lewis guns on the lower wings as per 87 Squadron.

I've been off-work since Tuesday with flu-like symptoms but I had enough of lying in bed yesterday and just after noon I got out of bed and pulled one of my Telford purchases from the pile. The AVRO 504K is an old Airfix kit that dates from 1967 but I think my particular kit was in 1970s packaging.

I started yesterday and finished a couple of hours ago. It kept me occupied and I almost forgot about being ill...

WW1 aircraft modelling - the miracle cure!  ;D

I've added castor oil staining and chips in the paint on the engine cowl that are showing the bare metal through as a bit of weathering.
