Thanks chaps! The next Camel will be the polar opposite of this one as far as the paint job is concerned - a 'Comic' nightfighter is currently in works.

Home Defence F.1/3 Comic, built from the Roden kit.

I don't have an airbrush so trying to replicate the partial overpainting of the cockades was a bit hit and miss.  :( I've painted the back of the prop black. This was painted so to prevent light from the Holt's flares reflecting back and spoiling the pilot's night vision on landing.

Showing the brackets for the Holt's flares under the wings.

Here's one that I think you may like, Warren.

Nieuport 23 flown by Edmond Thieffry, 5me Escadrille

To be honest, it's an Eduard Nie 17 but as I'm by no means a Nieuport expert, it looked the same as a 23 to me. I painted and decalled it so because I wanted a Belgian machine in my collection.

Another beautiful little bird from your bench! Well Done! Off the top of my head the only major difference in appearance between the 17 and 23 was that the Machine Gun was slightly offset to starboard. Perhaps a little different rigging pattern. Either way it basically looks the same as you said. Nice colorful scheme!

Darn tootin' I like it Squiffy, it's a Noop!  :)  As RAG said, for our purposes, a 23 is a 17 except for a few, small items.

Thanks for the positive comments, chaps.

And now for something completely different, as Monty Python used to say...

My first build at any scale other than 72nd is this Wingnut Wings Sopwith Scout, finished as Black Arrow - the mount of Flight Sub-Lieutenant Edmund Pierce of Naval 3.

It's never going to win any prizes but, hey, who cares?

I've learned a few things and the next one will be better. I think the Tripe will be my next 32nd scale effort. Shame that Raymond Collishaw's Black Maria isn't one of the options.

You really are prolific Squiffy -I turned around for a couple of days and missed some post and then there are these lovely little numbers appear on your blog. Excellent all - and who cares about prizes? Mine will never win any either, but I don't make models for competitions - I make them for fun!
