Can Anyone Identify This?

I found it on a site dedicated to communications technology in Norway. The caption said only WWI aircraft with wireless.

It looks like a morse code key on the box, so maybe it's a manned kite of some sort.....there would presumably be a telegraph connection to the ground for the morse.....

idk that looks like a fuel tank at the bottom of the photo. some sort of pusher, most likely very early prototype i suspect. no clue which one.

To me it looks like the large box contains the sounder, which the telegraph operator
hears morse code from the ground. I believe the key for sending information
is to the left of the box. Interesting picture, OM. Thanks for posting.
