I took a tumble
« on: May 15, 2014, 05:35:52 PM »
I was walking down my hallway today, bare feet on ceramic tiles, and there was some water on the tiles, I slipped and went down landing very heavily on my right knee and my head missed the floor by only inches. My knee is very sore and swollen and will probably bruise and my right wrist is also a bit sore so I must have put my right hand out when I fell. I have no idea where the water came from, I was home alone today as my wife is in Perth so it is a mystery. I can imagine my leg will be pretty stiff tomorrow so guess I will have to spend some time at my modeling bench  :) ;)

Ouch, hope you feel better soon.  Nothing like some therapy at the modelling desk, until you forget about the knee and try to get up too quickly!  ;)
Bessie Braddock: Sir, you are drunk.
Churchill: Madam, you are ugly. In the morning, I shall be sober!

Nancy Astor: Sir, if you were my husband, I would give you poison.
Churchill: If I were your husband I would take it.

Well, if the tumble leads you to spend time at the modelling bench, Des, then your misfortune could turn to be our good fortune.

But, I do hope things don't turn out too discomforting. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Best wishes
Nigel

Alternatively, feet up, relax.  Ice pack on the knee on which you can rest a cold beer....

Sorry to hear of the ouch, Des, but they say building
aeroplanes has amazing healing powers.  Hope
you feel not so sore soon.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Like Nigel, Des, I recommend the optimistic approach to this misfortune. I'd bet there's several projects in the back of your mind that could benefit greatly from some quiet contemplation or mild preparation. And as he says, this could turn out to be our good fortune as well. If not, Ian has the perfect fall back position, keeping your brew cold on the ice pack..........gotta love it! ;)
    Get well soon.
Cheers,
Lance

There's nothing more therapeutic than modeling unless it's modeling while drinking a cold beer.  I have some Fosters in the fridge and will drink one to your health.  Get well soon, buddy.
Cheers,
Bud

That sounds very painful Des - just glad it is not your head that is swollen after hitting the ground. Modelling is OK but what about the wrist? If that is stiff and you are not left handed it could be a frustrating time ahead. Do get well soon.

Des
Sorry to hear of your accident and incapacitation.
The next time your wife goes to Perth go with her and I'll introduce you to the guys in the Western Front Modellers club.
Do pop me a PM if you're ever coming this way.
Look after yourself.
Cheers
