1/28 Revell Sopwith Camel

All,
Completed the latest Revell reissue of their ancient, large scale Camel kit.
I liked the look of this kit as soon as I saw it. Not sure how accurate the markings are, but they look good to me. I'm very pleased how this one has come out. Mostly OOB build with exception of (basic) detailing to seat, cockpit and MG's. Also went to a lot of trouble to ensure the top wing setup was correct (I've built this in the past and top wing has a distinct bow if built from box) so that upper wing was straight and lower ones had the correct upward angle. Relocated the cabane strut mounted wind driven pump thing and altered the kit figure to look a bit more accurate.
Very nice kit that goes together very well. These large scale kits offer a lot of opportunities for super detail work if you are lucky enough to have those skills - recommended.
Many pictures taken outside in natural light to (hopefully) bring out the best in the model - I hope you enjoy!
Regards
Dave

That's a beautiful Camel Dave! I love the markings, and your paintwork is exceptional, as always.
Nicely displayed and great outdoor-lighting photos. What more could we ask?
Very well done my friend!
Cheers and huzzas,
Bob

Great markings and nicely done Dave. I can't help but remark on how nice the weather looks in your photos; I woke up to 10 or more cm's of snow this morning in the "Great White North"! If the weather here were better I might be inspired to produce a Camel as nice as this one, nice work!
Cheers,
Lance

Truly magnificent, Dave! I love this scheme. Accurate or not, you did a phenomenal job on it.

What a magnificent piece of work, Dave. To think I have turned up my nose at this old Camel model so many times! Yet you have shown just what can be achieved with it. For me, this is top drawer modelling.
Best wishes

Wow! That is probably the best model made from that kit I have seen. The markings are very well executed.
