Many thanks. There's always the big debate about 'How shiny?'
WW1 aircraft surfaces were. New . . Yes . . . . A few weeks old
(if they made it that far)? A bit of a sheen . . . And so on.
I like the mid-ground . . . Sheen with a bit of dirt here and there.

I'm with you on this they need to be dirtied up a tad!

Yep! Just enough to show a bit of use. Some models you see are
too 'matt' and just don't look the part. I dont think many lasted
long enough to become 'filthy' despite the minisrations of the
ground crews.

  Kong,
I think the truly filthy would have been the training aircraft. I resently saw a photo of a French trainer that looked as if they had painted her in used motor oil.

Very sweet, Dave.  Can't wait to see the top plane on her.
Cheers,

This is going to be sweet when finished :D

Your photo's are fine Dave and show the beastie to good effect.
Two things though:
- Perhaps (if possible) reduce the clutter in the background so that it's pretty much the subject and nothing else in the pic? I know it's only a progress shot - just a friendly suggestion :)
- We want more!! ;D

Some closeup pics, a bit better than the preceeding ones
I hope. Sorry they are small but the size restriction
makes it so.
