French five colour camouflage
« on: April 21, 2014, 11:17:25 AM »
In the Spring 2014 issue of Windsock magazine, there is an excellent article by Alan Toelle and Lance Krieg on custom mixing of French five colour pigments. The advantage being that you can use light grey in the mix for the oil based enamel Ripolin painted metal panels or substitute an equal amount of flat silver for the fabric covered areas painted with Acellos cellulose-acetate dopes. However, the article justs suggests using generic cheap acrylic craft paint.
I would like to hear from an experienced mixologist on what specific Humbrol enamels or Testors Model Master enamels will produce the most accurate results using the ratios featured in the Windsock article on page 11. Thank you.
