Billy Barkers Snipe

Been working on the engine. Got some detail painting done, bright brass on the fittings and rocker arms and some steel on the nuts. Started wiring it. You might not be able to see the ones I've done. When I finish I'll take a pic of the back and you'll see better. WNWs does not give an engine decal surprisingly even though the data plate is molded on. So used Archers Generic placards and cut a small one in half and applied it. Not sure if you can see it in the pic, but it is evident. Maybe going a bit too far.

Very nicely done James, the colours are really good and the placard gives that finishing touch.

Thanks everyone. Have had only a little time to do stuff. Disappointed the bluing and orange heat distressing doesn't show up too well on the pipes. Got some oil wash on and it livens it up some. Started painting the cockpit. Next up is figuring what oil paint to use for a light wood.

Okay, managed to get some modeling done. Some wood work and the instrument panel. I also painted the guns which are awesome from Gaspatch. Just have to brush them with pencil lead next.
Also got some more done on engine. This has been over 2 days. I hope I have a good colour for the bombs. I would really appreciate anyone knowing more that me commenting on whether you think this is a good shade. I used Vallejo Gold Brown to paint them.
And this is the armature I'm getting my ignition wire from. Just a 1 inch computer fan that seized.

Very nice work, James. I do like those Gaspatch guns: excellent items, as you say. I'll probably have to get a few.
Good luck with the rest of your build!

Looking good! Nice wood paneling there.
From the pics Jamo offered up I'd say the bomb yellow color has a tetch more orange and bit duller too -- but I am no expert.

Thanks guys. Appreciate it.
Okay only got a little done. Have cross bracing applied and painted steel. Second pic shows after a wash applied to various components. Also the guns brushed with pencil lead. May have to do that again as I dont think they are shiny enough.
Anyone have a good paint procedure for a wicker seat? Colours etc? Thanks in advance.
