Wellington Model Expo 2014
« on: April 05, 2014, 07:01:38 PM »
Richard Alexander organised a display of WWI models as part of the Model Expo. Most of the aircraft models were built by Richard Alexander and Dave Johnson of Wingnut Wings, plus my modest collection of mostly 1/72.

This Junkers J.I is finished in markings from the forthcoming deluxe version. I asked Dave Johnson and he said the deluxe kits are definitely still in the pipeline, no indication of release date at this time.

This Pup was in the competition section

Lots more photos to come tomorrow

That is quite an impressive line-up of WW1 models Jamo, and all extremely well built and detailed, Richard should be congratulated for organising this wonderful display, and a big thanks to Dave and yourself for also contributing models for inclusion in the display.

Hello All

Isn't it wonderful to see increasing numbers of the period aircraft we love at model displays ?

Best wishes
Nigel

That really is impressive; literally thousands of hours labour on display, and by all appearances of magnificent quality. Thanks Jamo and looking forward to your "lots more photos tomorrow".
Cheers,
Lance

Very good news - and hopefully their line of figure will appear in the near future as well...

Bruce Adam came 1st in the class Prop aircraft larger than 1/48th with this Hansa Brandenburg W.29:

Neil Bissell came 1st in Prop aircraft smaller than 1/48 with this 1/72 Hansa Brandenburg W.29:

Paul Edwards took best Car in show with this Team Lotus:

Here is another of Paul's fantastic car models:

Will Vale took 1st place in the Sci-Fi and Miscellaneous category with this model:

How about this for a monumental display from Rex Crawford. Rex built every model on this whole table:

Seen from the other end:

I believe there are upwards of 240 models in his collection.

Sadly Rex passed away a year or so ago.

Thanks for the photos James, certainly is a great collection of models on display. Congatulations to Dave Johnson for all his awards, all well deserved.
