The things we do for love!
« on: May 17, 2012, 12:39:34 AM »
Hello Friends,
In-between making mountains of buckles and holding down a real job in the real world, I have also been turning my hand to bead weaving. This craft was passed down to me by a former girlfriend, who has since, sadly passed on from this life.

The project below is in honour of 'Dee' and will be a gift for my current partner/soulmate/comedy genius/girlfriends birthday.
I still have 2 or 3 hours of work on this baby. Working the end threads back through the beads is a real pain in the glutæus maximus! But thread it I will  :o :D

Cheers me dears,
Von Beadweaveguru

That's lovely work Lord Buckles. Lucky girl.

Weaving has always been a fascinating art to me from beads to Navajo rugs.  A grand craft.

I've seen people do things along those lines but that far outways anything I've seen so far, very nice.

I hate to mention it, but I think your shade of PC10 is a bit too green. I'd suggest trying a bit more brown in your mixture next time.  ;D ;D ;D

Seriously though; nice work, and after seeing the calibre of the modelling in this group, you may have converted me.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks for the great comments  :D

Hi Paddy,
I'm so glad Annie liked it.
If you can (which I'm sure you can  :) ) acquire Annie's wrist measurements I would be honoured to make her one. Not the one in the picture, but an old Queen Elizabeth(1)  design.

Bring it on, partner!

That is excellent work with the beading Bob, my wife dabbles in it a little so I know the amount of work involved, you have created a masterpiece my friend which anyone would be proud to own.

P.S. I see your loom is out of Boise, ID. Interesting.

Hi Paddy,
Yep, bought the loom and had it shipped in from the good ol' US of A.
In true modelling tradition I've already made improvements to the design  ;D
Cheers mate  ;)
