Dear friends, I have to ask your pardon... During the build of this model I became too lazy to take any in-progress photos. And now, when the model is finished I can only report a few additions and issues I had on the way and invite you to the gallery.
Besides what I reported earlier I have added:
1) wiring, fuel plumbing, control rods and few details to the engine
2) spent cartridge collector box for Vickers
3) used Parabellum gun from WNW Hannover kit - oddly this example of DH.9 had the German gun installed, probably they came to Poland without Lewis guns, Vickers guns seem to be visible in the photos
4) radiator drain cock
I had some problems with the cooling water tank and fuel lines between the fuselage and the upper wing - they all came to be too long. I had to shorten them by about 1.5mm. I am not sure why it was so, the cabane struts do not leave any margin of error here.
Also the fit of the carburetter intake pipes was not perfect at all - I had to trim them and to sand delicately the openings in the fuselage sides. Generally, if you look closer to the kit instructions regarding the carbs, there is some contradiction - three nice shots of two variants of carbs do not correspond to what instructions tells you to mount on the engine.
The interplane struts also required some care, the outer ones were very loose in their sockets, the inner ones - quite contrary had very tight fit. I have attached the cabane ones first (one of them was loose, too), put the upper wings on to control the geometry while the glue was setting. Then I repeated the same with the interplane ones.
What is also surprising is the question of longer and shorter plywood sides in the rear fuselage. The kit gives only the short version, while one of kit options - Bonus, just like the one I built, requires the longer version. I have just realised that Ninak kit has both of them. So it is indeed surprising, why WNW omitted this detail here.
This list in by no means meant to be critical. This kit is overall absolutely high quality product, one you grow to expect from WNW. I only mention those issues to give some hints to you, who might like to build your DH.9. Highly recommended!!!
