WnW Pfalz D.IIIa
« on: February 22, 2014, 11:26:48 AM »
Hello my friends,
Here's some final photos of my Pfalz D.IIIa.  It has been a very enjoyable build and has
taught me a few things, hopefully improving my model building as well.  Being a
Wingnuts model, she didn't need much at all in the way of after-market bits.  I did use
some HGW seatbelts and Gaspatch turnbuckles. The rigging was .012mm monofilament line.
The decals are from the Wingnut's Pfalz D.IIIa Flying Circus Part two set.  Lozenge is
Wood & Wire five colour upper and lower Lozenge sheets.
All this model has done for me is whited my appitite for more.  I would recommend any of the
Wingnuts models to anyone.  Thanks to all of you for the kind support!

If you are interested, the build log is here: http://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=2913.0

Thanks again to all the talented modellers who never fail to inspire me to improve...it's working...slowly ;) ;D
Until next time,

Cheers,
Ernie :)

She's simply gorgeous, Ernie!  The variation in the black looks fantastic.  What color black did you use.  The lozenge looks awesome as well.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks for the gracious comments Lindsay, Bob and Bud.  Heartwarming stuff, my friends.
Bud, I used Tamiya NATO Black for the most part, with a some Tamiya Semi-gloss Black on
some of the "metal" areas.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Congratulations Ernie on producing a wonderful model, the overall build and finish on this plane is very well done and your rigging is superb. I am very impressed with the scheme you used and you executed the decal application beautifully, extremely well done Ernie and I now look forward to your next build.

Ernie .... Huzzahs from me! A most excellent job to be sure. I followed your log and was impressed and reassured by both your candid build, and comments.
As an aside if this is your first WnW's build I can only assume you're destined to have your name in lights by the time you've completed just a few more.

Very well done sir!

Hello Ernie,

With this build, you can stand easily next to the great modelers of this forum. Of course there are a few extraterrestrials who are out of reach for most. You did a marvellous build and you should be very proud of it. Many congratulations my friend!

Kind regards
Patrick
