Darrel Gardiners 1/32 Sopwith Swallow conversion by KiwiResin
« on: January 27, 2014, 03:27:34 PM »
Darrel has done a great job on the test build of the Swallow.
This conversion is for the Academy/Hobbycraft Sopwith Camel, and is designed to make that kit useable ( which it isnt as a Camel)

Now available from Kiwi Resin.

Lovely! Very nice model of an interesting and attractive aircraft! It would be nice to be able to build it in 72nd scale!

Very nice!

Would I be right in thinking that the prominent ribs above the upper wing centre section were intended to reinforce thr structure or was there some other purpose?

Best wishes
Nigel

I think the strengthenng strakes might have been to stop the fabric drumming within the prop arc (?)

Very nice!

i think it looks really nice, i have thought about getting the conversion for my academy camel. does anyone have a link to show what comes in the kit? as i understood it was basically a wing and tail surfaces with a seat. it seems kind of expensive for what you get $66.00 is almost as much as a whole wnw kit($51.29 plus $14.50 shipping) not complaining , just personally i am not sure i want a swallow enuff to spend that amount for the conversion. unless i am wrong and theres alot more to the kitset.
