Well, I don't know how this has happened but I have missed this thread completely, sorry for my ignorance for not replying to all of these brilliant models, they are outstanding examples of the Fokker DR.1, well done to everyone who has posted photos.

Des.

Des, No problem on missing the thread, they have been added pretty quickly lately! For my part thanks for the recognition!!

Modelnut:  I too like your green and brown streaking.  I know there has been some discussion about that and I have seen different examples, yours is first rate.  I like the Lothar Scheme too.  Like Bud, the Tripe isn't my favorite WWI a/c, but it still has it's unique persona with a host of colorful schemes.

Bud:  Great job on the Tripe.  Using the Streaking decals is like using lozenge decals.  If they are there use them.  I do like the look of a good hand streaked job, but; knowing the difficulty of getting it right, decals are a great option.  I like that scheme and you did an outstanding job on it.

I'll jump on board with my 1/32 Roden DR1. It's my one and only attempt thus far at streaking so there's a lot of room for improvement in that regard. Aside from not getting the streaking right, it was a lot of fun to mask and airbrush the stripes and I would say that it's my favourite Roden kit to date.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks Mark. I have oil paints(used on Lothars bird),but the other I used enamels to streak. So far I'm.satisfied using enamels for the speed of drying.
Thanks,Stan

@ Stan:  Thanks for the explanation.  I am going to try the oils on my next Tripe, see how it turns out.

@ Chris:  I think it turned out pretty darned nice.  Masking and painting those stripes can be a challenge and you pulled it off outstandingly.

Thanks, Mark!

Chris, I think your streaking is flawless.  Outstanding Dr.I, buddy.

Bud

Chris,
That's very nicely done and I think the streaking is bang on. Where have you been hiding this jewel? Oh, right, the Sterilite hiding place trick! :o Beautiful addition to this "Gaggle" of Triplanes.
Cheers,
Lance

Chris that is a superb Triplane.   The masking job and paint is flawness and I
think that the streaking is great.  Not an easy thing to pull off and you have
done it.  Well done.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

You're right,Bob. I bought another one last week. I may have to cave in and paint it red, though.I've read a few books on the Baron lately.
