Andrew,
From what I've found to date the answer is metal. I did my Pfalz reinforced "steps" with scrap decal painted in the appropriate colour and will apply some wear/scratches to it when I weather the completed model. Worked well if that's of any help.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks for the help  :)

Your DVI is looking great! Really nice work on the cross, wood, and overall look!

You continue to excel at the build, Andrew.  The colour of the exhaust looks perfect
and I really like the chipping on the spinner.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Hello!

I've made some progress this week end

I've finished to paint the cowlings

Clear coated the fuselage and added some decals

I've started to paint the propeller. First an acrylic base and then I've overlayed oil paint. Needs more work and some clear paint on top.

All the sub assemblies are almost ready

The cross on the rudder is painted. If you are going to build this kit watch out, because the the decal for the rudder looks a little bit undersized to me...

Best

Andrew

It is interesting to see that you have the same fitting issues with the engine cowlings like I had. It's a pity, as the rest of the kit is a real surprise fitting-related (or not, as the rest is more or less the "typical" WNW-standard of fit).
