My Hyperscale Airfix OKGB 1/72 Hurricane

I added a cockpit,wheelwells and new exhaust, drilled out the gunports and ejector chutes, reshaped the wingtips and re-scribed her. Kit decals for Ian Gleed were used. Its a WWII in a scale I thought I had given up on.

Man you've got that right my friend the Firefly's shall we say a tad rough. But at least it's not that BV-141! I still do a slow burn just thinking about that one.

  Not quite but very very close. The only kit that ever defeated me as you say was the Hi-Tech Voisin III ,that one was a fight from the beginning.After months of building and rebuilding and even more rebuilding I finally came to the conclusion this one had gotten the better of me. Of coarse at that point there's nothing left to do except introduce the thing to file seven and be done with it .

As I worked on it I realized 1/72 is waaaay too small now, but the g/b's are fun so i will give the Firefly a shot.

I was working at the my workbench this afternoon thinking just that 1/72 scale is waaay too small.  After abandoning the scale well over twenty years ago now, I've signed on to a GB on another site with a Albatros D.III in the braile scale. I think I need a stronger Opivisor,perhaps a 40X. Darn this beauty sure is tiny.

AHHHH, the Optivisor! I gave up on the fountain of youth long ago, and then recently discovered the Optivisor products. But you are right G.A. the next move may be to a magnification factor beyond their present catalog.
    I have nothing but admiration and envy for those who work in "Braile Scale", I started out in 1/72 when I got serious about modelling in the 50's/60's, still love to look but can't imagine working in it. As someone said earlier about progressing to 1:32, in a few more years I'll be checking out the inventory of 1:24 Scale!

The optivisor is a great tool. Just dont look over your shoulder at the cat. You'll think a Bengal tiger got in the room...

I hate to admit it but I've had an optivisor for 20 years and yesterday, I used it for the first time when painting my S.E.5a radiator. Mind you, it's 1/32 scale, but it still made a big difference. I guess it will be a regular tool from here on in.

I still think the Airfix Hurricane I is a decent and affordable model, which captures the essence of the real thing quite well. Nice work.

Thanks. I agree. Their 1/48 is quite good too and they are both better than the Hasegawa kits in some ways.
