Hi from Weston-Super-Mare
« on: December 28, 2013, 08:17:39 PM »
Hello all , as the title says I'm from W-S-M in the UK . I guess like many I started on Airfix and Revell when I was a kid buying one kit most weekends . For the last Twenty years or so I have been a figure modeler but the last year or so the enthusiasm seem to dry up . Browsing around Ebay one day I come across a couple of cheap WW1 Aircraft kits and thought what the hell lets give it a go, I have bought a few decent kits since then and now I'm hooked .
So glad I found this great site and able to admire all the wonderful finished kits you guys show here .

Glad to have you Gordon. I'm in Canada, but I remember taking the train through WsM from Bath when I lived there for a spell. I loved it!

Enjoy your time here.

Hiya Gordon.

This is the plaace if you want to chat, learn, show or just lurk. A friendlier bunch of nuts you'll not find anywhere else. All happy to help and share no matter what skill level or scale. No airs and graces & no prima donna's *what they do in their private lives we don't want to know...*

Welcome aboard Gordon!
I'm from High Wycombe originally, and now live on Cape Cod in the USA, but I spent many a summer holiday in W-S-M and Brean Sands back in the 60's!

Hello Gordon, a welcome from me too. I'm also a long time modeller that has made the change! Or perhaps "taken on board" would be a better term?
There's a surprising amount to learn, and even more to accommodate re' your thinking processes, but! To my mind that's the positive in all this, as you cannot help but grow as each successive challenge presents itself.

Also on a personal note - mark me down as another fan of Western and surrounding areas. Whilst courting the missus we would use her parents caravan at Burnham as a base for exploration. Spent many hours driving along Brean sands, and popping over the headland to see the bright lights of Western super Mare. Chedder Gorge, and the Screech Owl pools ... I could get quite misty eyed ... right up until I remember her boiling the family pets and howling at the moon.

You'll like it here ... I do.
KBO ............. Andi.
