Somehow, I wandered away from rigged aircraft and found myself on the Dark Side building this old DML 1:35 kit of a Sherman Ic Hybrid. I based the build on a photograph of Canada's 8th Princess Louise's (New Brunswick) Hussars in Putten, Holland in April 1945. Forum member Trackpad is a former member of that regiment. It's all painted in Tamiya and Vallejo acrylics with the exception of oil washes, Humbrol enamel dry brushing and MIG pigments. Although it's not an aircraft model, I hope you will excuse me for posting it here and maybe some of you will even find it of interest.

And now onto that WnW Snipe which is more appropriate for this site.

Cheers,

Chris

Wow, Chris!  That's truly stunning.  Those figures are so lifelike and the painting and weathering of the Sherman so realistic.  Now I expect to see the same level of craftsmanship applied to that Snipe.  Get crackin', buddy.
Cheers,
Bud

Chris,
Magnificent work and truly spectacular given it doesn't have wings! Just sent you an EMail concerning your build schedule; hopefully I've shamed you into a Snipe or DVII?!? BTW, your figures are incredibly well done, some potential for your next "Stringbag"?
Cheers,
Lance

That's a great model.

Very nice indeed Chris. My late father-in-law drove a Sherman post D-Day. From what he told me about the experience,  he had about as much faith in the frontal armour as the guys you have modeled!

Best wishes
Nigel

Chris!  That is a gorgeous model and a beautiful display.  ;D  Very well done indeed.  Almost makes me want to model some armor again!  ;)  Great work.

Cheers,

Bob

Great tank, Chris!  I don't know which is scarier, putting tracks together
or rigging a biplane. ;) ;D  Nicely done, my friend.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks for stopping by and posting all of your generous comments my friends! A guy could get a swelled head here.  ;D

It's good to know that he survived the war Nigel.

Yes indeed, I'm going to have a go at one of the Snipes in the basement, but it'll be my usual almost OOB build. I do have a figure in mind for it though.

Cheers,

Chris

No way Bud! I build these stringbags for fun. I'll never approach you guys for the detail and craftsmanship you all exhibit.

Cheers,

Chris

Wow, Chris, that's an incredible build! I didn't know you were into figures, either. You really knocked those out of the park!

Thanks for posting.

Thanks again guys!

I'm really not Lindsay. I've avoided them in the past like the plague so this is my first attempt in many years. There's definitely room for improvement!

Cheers,

Chris
