Hello from Somerset
« on: December 11, 2013, 04:15:35 AM »
My name is Robert and I have been model making for 35 years.
My main interest is figure modelling (so why am I here?) but I have a great interest in WW1 in the air.
As part of my hobby I do commercial sculpting, after working for several companies I decided to launch Elan Miniatures in the 1990's which were a range of 1/48th scale pilot figures. However after several years I became disenchanted with the commercial side and left the hobby for six years. But the bug never went away and I began sculpting again. I still do some commercial work and have set up Elan13 Miniatures as an outlet for figures and busts from me and other sculptors I admire. The draw of WW1 pilots is still there and I produced my first 1/32nd RFC pilot for the range this year. There will be more to follow, and maybe there will be some time in the future to make some of the aircraft kits I own...

Welcome aboard, Robert!  Glad you found us.  I just paid a visit to Elan13, and I'm very impressed with what I saw.  Your 1/32 scale RFC pilot with dog is brilliant.  I hope you will do more WWI figures.  I see we have something else in common, besides a love of WWI aviation: an affinity for large breasted women.
Cheers,
Bud

Welcome aboard Robert.  I live in New Richmond Wisconsin, only about 8 miles from Somerset.........Wisconsin!  I was hoping there would be a fellow WW1 modeler in the neighborhood, but alas and alack not to be.  At least you in the cyber neighborhood.  I like your figures and look forward to seeing more of what you do.  Don't be shy, we are all a friendly bunch.

Best wishes
