You are doing a superb job son a little known Camel night fighter variant. Your attention to detail is amazing and your colour work is totally enviable.

Very delicate preshading, you will have to be very careful that you do not paint over .

Hello Bud:

I always wondered what the Comic was; now I know.  Looking good so far.  The seat and interior look the business, as is the pre-shading.  I am wondering how that will work with the Brunswick Green?  Hmmmmmm.  You can pull it off Bud, no worries mate.  I will be following along offering the usual encouragement and Huzzah's!   ;)  Looking forward to seeing you progress.
I know what you mean trying to keep SWMBO off balance with the stash.  I just tell "C" that they are empty boxes!  I too am buying faster than I can build.
Best

I apologize once more for my tardiness in responding.  I've been caught up in actually getting some work done on the old girl.  When I get in that mode, I post only the occaisional quick response, mostly on other people's threads.  I really do appreciate all your generous remarks (and concerns  ;))  Jacek, you and Mark were absolutely right in your doubts about the preshading under the Brunswick green.  Now I see why they chose this color for night fighters.  It absorbs more light than any other color I've seen, including black.

So, I reckon I'll just have to postshade.  Looks a lot like RLM Black Green, doesn't it?  Maybe a bit blacker.
Another phenomenon I encountered was "spider webbing". ???

Never experienced that before.  I think it was a combination of spraying in a cold garage and not quite thinning my paint enough.  At any rate, it was easily fixed by going over the effected surfaces with a tooth brush.

Looks a lot better now since I've worked on it some more.  Sprayed some clear gloss and now working on decals.  Hopefully, I'll get some more photos up before Christmas.  If not, Nollaig Shona Duit!
Cheers,
Bud

Pretty nicey! It`s going to be a really nice model mate!
I`ve experienced the spider webbing with gunze paints I guess with insufficient thinning - not a big problem though...
Best regards

Bud,
Your shading looks perfect on your lower wings! Too bad about the Brunswick green but I am sure you will come up with a Post Shading solution. As for the "Fuzzy" paint, I used to get that using Floquil if not thinned properly but never ran into it with any other brand. I think you are correct in your thinning assumption! Looking great as always.

The Brunswick green is a nice change from the usual PC10, Bud.  Great
job on the underwing shading.  I've never seen the fuzzies before, but
you got rid of them without any trouble.  Enjoyable build, my friend.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Hi Bud,
all the pre shading is gone, but we all know about the beautiful way it turned out. The Brunswick Green looks very interesting, like you said it seems to absorbe all the light. It's the first time I heard about this special color.
I often tried preshading but was never able to get good results. I know there are a lot of modelers with very convincing results, if using more dark colors I prefer postshading and I'm sure, that your already nice looking paintjob, in the end will be stunning.

Fixing this is real easy use indeed a thooth brush and then spry pure thinner over the sprayed area to resofthen the paint and it will level out.
Ofcourse use the right thinner for the paint example white spirit wont work on tamiya paint... use lacqeur thinner etc.

Bud,
Missed the latest here with my Christmas travels; that Brunswick Green is really an eye catcher, very unique. I am really enjoying following this project and with your expertise at Post Shading this is going to be really impressive! I'm very keen to try it in 1:32 with one of the Hobbycraft Kits, keep at her! ;)
Cheers,
Lance
