New Kellerkind figures
« on: May 09, 2012, 01:39:49 AM »
If you haven't seen the new Kellerkind RFC figure, check it out.  It's a great pose of a pilot taking a step and pulling on one of his gloves.  I just got mine from the Red Lancers and the sculpting and casting are gorgeous.

I received my "Let's Go" figure and I must say that it is excellent, the sculpting and casting are fantastic with very crisp clean lines, the facial features are great, this is another brilliant product to add to their list of WW1 figures.

The Kellerkind figures are certainly excellent quality, it would be nice if they did a 'half' pilot for putting in the cockpit of a plane.

Cheers

I've just had a great piece of news, after my last post I thought why not contact Kellerkind about a seated pilot, so I did, I've just had this e-mail back from Martin Hille.

Hi Peter,
thanks for the idea. And you are right: many model makers wrote me the same in the past. I m working since a short time on a sitting pilot. Please have a little more patience  I will bring out the sitting figure(-s) in the middle of this year.

Best regards,
Martin Hille

Good news indeed.

I have Just received the mechanic and "Let's Go" figures from Martin, they are exquisite. The service is also very swift indeed.

I have written to Martin several times over the past twelve months asking for a seated pilot figure, at the time he told me that he had one at development stage, well, looks like it has gone well beyond development and we will finally be seeing a seated pilot, this is great news. I also wrote to several other figure producers and they all took an interest in making seated pilots.

There's several new figures added to their website recently. They look great I think, I'll be ordering the RFC mechanic :)

Why - the heck - do figures of German soldiers of that period always HAVE to be depicted with moustaches? I know that's funny and everyone recognises immediately "ah, a German!", but as far as I see, moustaches then have been a wide spread fashion for Kaisers only, right? And, sure, for the masses of the lower rank and file in the army. But young officers like Richthofen, Udet and the like? Can't remember a pic. But that's the lot we ned for our airoplane-kits.
