1/72 Finnish splinter Fokker D.VII
« on: December 02, 2013, 10:25:17 AM »
I started this kit after I see this color profile.

The model represents a Finnish training Fokker D.VII.
The kit is from Revell (just a basic kit) painted with Tamiya, Vallejo and Humbrol pains. The Finnish decals is homemade.

Thanks for watching.

All comments are welcome.

Very nicely done Nikos, the splinter camo is really good and quite different from the usual camo we see, this is a very attractive model.

That is a gorgeous little D.VII, it's nice to see a differant colour scheme once in a while!
Which kit is it? My only comment would be that the struts look a little too thick and square in some of the pics, but that may be just the photos - otherwise very nice indeed - congratulations!

The scheme, the base, the model...they're all perfect! What an incredible camo job. Thanks for sharing.

What a gorgeous little model, Nikos.  Very good job on an unusual subject.
The camouflage is really striking and I like the base...simple but just right.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Wow, this is an interesting subject! Very nicely done, too, especially if one considers the quality of the kit itself. Congratulations!
Could you give some bits of history behind this subject? When was it used?

What a stunning little Fokker, Nikos!  I love the scheme, the shading and the display base.  Fantastic work all around.  Now I'm tempted to do one with this scheme in 1/48 scale.  I believe there's a Czech company that produces decals and resin skis for Finnish Fokkers.  Thanks for the inspiration!
Cheers,
Bud

That Revell kit is very old - to produce a model of this quality from that start is truly a major achievement. Your models are of the highest standard and in the best scale too. The skis are very good indeed - are they home-made or were they after-market? Really interesting to see a common subject in unusual colours and markings - please keep on showing us your work.
