Revell 1/28 Spad XIII
« on: November 26, 2013, 11:53:41 AM »
Okay:  I know I have built at least three of these over the years.  I got this from a friend of mine in California in the 80's.  I always wanted to try my hand at another one but I never felt I had the skills to do it right or at least give it a go.  I did this about 4 years ago when I first got back into WWI modeling and am fairly happy with the results.  Today, naturally I would do it differently, but I still like it in Rickenbackers markings.

Like Dave said, lots of clean up, and the cockpit begs for super detailing.

Best

Lots of cleanup required, but she sure does clean up well! Nice scheme, Mark.

Very nice SPAD.
Also think about to do next, but do not XIII, just VII.
Roden has set SPAD VII in 32, only weak  :-\

She's a beauty, Mark!  The SPAD is a challenging build in any scale, with the intricate rigging and the 5 color scheme, but you pulled both off brilliantly.
Cheers,
Bud

Great, Mark!

Done the old kit justice - also, really pleased to see what others have done with this particular kit.

Very colourful scheme and a very good build of an old set of moulds. Just shows what real skill and patience can achieve.
