Hi from Derbyshire, UK
« on: November 18, 2013, 05:07:52 AM »
Hi, I'm Barry, thought I had had better make my mark here as I rushed in with a completed build of the Airfix Albatros before saying Hello to everyone.  Returned to modelling a year or so ago after retiring.  Silly me, I thought I would have plenty of time on my hands only to find that the list of little jobs for family and friends only seems to get longer, and the days shorter.  I work mostly in 1/72 ( with a magnifier) mainly because of space considerations although I have a couple of the Revell 1/48 kits to have a go at.

Hi Barry and welcome to this great forum.

We can't be too far off the same age and the thought of working in 1/72 is almost enough to give me palpitations, with or without a magnifier the size of a dinner plate! I can't wait to see your Albatros.

For me, it's now 1/48 with a move soon to 1/32 but you will find some brilliantly gifted 1/72 modellers here.

Best wishes
Nigel

Welcome aboard, Barry!  I shiver at the prospect of attempting something in 1/72 scale.  Hat's off to you and all the others who do.  I enjoyed your Albatros and look forward to seeing your DH2.
Cheers,
Bud

Welcome to the Forum Barry. I share your thoughts on retirement; only been so for slightly less then three months, and the "To Do List" is growing daily!
Enjoy, this is a great place to have at your disposal and there's lots of incredible talent and knowledge here.
Cheers
