1/72 DR.1 Builds
« on: November 17, 2013, 02:50:28 PM »
Hello everyone, This is my first post of pictures to the site. Built awhile back so I don't remember the details. I believe the von Richthofen mount is the newer Revell tool and the Korner a/c is by Eduard. Both 1/72 scale. Paints used were Pollyscale. Did the streaking with a small brush and diluted paint over a CDL base. Hard to get a handle on the that streaking. I am currently working on another in this scale but am realizing that as I get older this scale is getting tougher. Thanks for looking.

Two very nice looking DR.1 aircraft models Roland, the colour schemes are very eye catching and you have managed the streaking quite well, a job well done in such a small scale.

Nice to see you on the forum, Roland.  Those are two beautiful
little triplanes!  I think your streaking is very good, particularly on
such small models.  Happy thing that we have larger scales as our
eyes get older! ;) ;D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

I am amazed that you have achieved such good streaking with a hairy stick - I have problems getting a decent finish in plain colours with a hairy stick let alone the subtleties of these finishes! Very good models indeed and striking colour schemes.

It would seem that I am blessed with better than average eyesight for one of my age although I stress that I could not do what I do without a magnifier. The advantage of God's Own Scale is that the models take almost as long to build as larger ones but occupy less space when they are finished.

Hello, Roland -

Both of your DR1's look very good and the streak finish looks OK to my eyes.

Des, Ernie, LM, Bud and Dave Thanks for the kind words. Sill have a way to go to get to the level I see on this forum, which is great by the way! I have several Wingnut and Roden kits and am thinking about doing that scale exclusively??? Just have to figure out what to do with 400+ other kits I have.... :o

Very nice looking brace of DR1s! Your streaking in that small scale is quite nicely done! As for the scale conversion, I have been there and done that  ???

Hi Roland.

Great looking couple you have there. The streak camo it's quite hard in this scale but you handle it quite well.

Nice job in those Fokkers.
