WNW Fokker DVII (OAW) Wilhelm Leusch
« on: November 04, 2013, 07:25:17 AM »
Okay folks:

I finally go this off the bench and on the shelf.  The cowlings provided a small problem but I managed to get them on with some coaxing and filing.  Not my best effort, but; I am pleased with it.  It was a windy day when I took these on 3 November, however it didn't blow away.

I experimented some more with oils on the vents on the panels and elsewhere, I am fairly pleased with the results.

I used the kit lozenge decals and oversprayed them with a mist coat of Testors MM desert sand.

And finally some of my experiments with the use of oils.

Overall I enjoyed the kit, but; it seemed to fight me.  I should know better than to start a kit and then let it lanquish over  a 4 month period of time and come back to it.  Just too difficult to get the motivation up, but seeing the work on the forum motivated me to finish it.  This is a great forum.

Best

What an excellent result Mark, the finish on this model is superb and the scheme you used is very eye catching. The work you did on the cockpit is brilliant, congratulations on finishing this model to such a high standard, it may have taken a bit longer than what you wanted but it has all been worth it, well done Mark.

She's a beauty Mark!  You've executed this nifty scheme very well indeed.  The bleed-through of the lozenge and cross apear to be just right in the photos.  Very well done my friend.  ;D

Bob

Absolutely great finish Mark! The Kit lozenge with your added "dusting" looks very much the part and your "blue over lozenge and markings" work is excellent, hard to know when/where to stop but you aced it. Very nice Build, and one you should be proud of!
Cheers,
Lance

P.S. Is that all part of your spread in the background of the photos? I've noticed it on past photos of yours, Michigan, correct?? Looks very nice indeed!

Truly stunning, Mark!  So glad to see her finished at last.  Well worth the wait.  Your blue over-sprayed lozenge looks perfect and your cockpit work is superb.  Congratulations, buddy.
Cheers,
Bud

Hello Mark,

Lovely!

I really like the colour scheme - I found the front end a bit tricky too - all those bearers and fine cowlings - there's no margin for error..

If I did one again I'd go for an over sprayed fuselage too. Yours looks really great!

Regards

Guy

Nice and colourful. Probably the nicest scheme of those offered by WNW. Congratulations, Mark!

Mark, that exact model is the D.VII I plan on doing.  Thank you for showing
me how it should look!  Absolutely inspiring job, my friend.

Lovely work, Mark.  ;)
Forgive me if you have already mentioned this, but which lozenge did you use for this bird?

Cheers,
Bob
