Which 1/72 Sopwith Dolphin kit is best?
« on: October 04, 2013, 07:27:32 AM »
To my imperfect knowledge, there are three Sopwith Dolphin kits in 1/72:

a. The Choroszy Modelbud resin kit. I've heard there might be something wrong with the exhausts on it.

b. The CMR resin kit. I've heard it's underscale.

c. The Pegasus limited run plastic kit. I own a few Pegasus monoplane kits, so I'm somewhat familiar with what they're like.

Now, all of this is mainly just stuff I've heard...I don't know. I'm hoping some of you help me out in figuring out which kit is the most accurate, or, if there's a tie, which is easier to build.

Hi Proco.

It's hard to tell what's the best one. One it's plastic and the other two R€$in.

I guess that Chorozsy model it's innacurate in some parts (Prezmol knows it better than me), don't know nothing about the CMR one.

But i may tell you this, besides resin models being more expensive, due to the properties of resin it's a hard material to work with. So if you run into to troubles, it will be more difficult to go around them.

Plastic models you know how to deal with them and it's cheaper. Although being an old model it builds a nice model.

Your call now.
