LF 1/72 Snipe and Salamander decals
« on: September 26, 2013, 06:02:43 AM »
Hullo, I'm very sorry to post in here twice in a day.

I foolishly failed to closely read the descriptions on two kits I ordered from ebay, and now have a Toko Snipe and Salamander, neither of which have decals. The Salamander I'm less bothered by, as I mostly wanted it for the early tail so I could use it on the Snipe, but I was hoping to build the Snipe as W G Barker VC's machine. Does anyone have a set of decals for Barker's Snipe in 1.72 they'd be willing to sell to me? I'd also be interested in getting decals for the Salamander (preferably one not in the weird camo scheme), but it's less of a priority. Let me know if you can help me!

I guess I have the decal sheet for Barker's Snipe, I will check it later this day, when I am back home. However, I am afraid you will not be satisfied, the decals are horrible, have wrong colours. I have discarded their use when building my Snipe.

Yes, my understanding is that Toko is to Roden what cave men are to modern men, so I guessed their decals might be as bad as I've heard Roden's are. I recall reading that the roundels are wrong too, something about a too dark color blue, so I guess all I'd really need would be the serial numbers for Barker's Snipe from the sheet.

Hi Proco.

Don't know how important with sticking with the right thing is to you, but about Barkers scheme with the Toko kit... you may take a look here:

Thanks, Zabu! I'd read that, so my plan is to use the early tailplane in my Salamander boxing, and then to reshape the ailerons.

Many thanks!
