Evening,

Bit more progress...

Working on the interior still - here are a few more pictures..

I recently got a pack of the sliding brass tubes from Albion Alloys - Des posted a quick review recently - these are brilliant and I've already used loads..

Comments welcome (except any regarding sink holes  :P)

Thanks

Guy

WOW Guy!  That is probably the finest looking wood finish I've ever seen!  Great use of the Albion tubing as well--thats for that tip. ;D  Very well done.

Spectacular looking cockpit, Guy.  Your wood grain is brilliant.

Nice! A great finish to the wood, and some nice contrast with the grain breaking different directions.

Guy,
I of course, must agree with the others, your wood grain is superb! Why? In my opinion you have kept the grain to a SUBTLE REPRESENTATION rather than trying to show a definitive pattern. JMHO but in my mind, scale wood is subtle just like you have represented.

Thank you!  ;D

That's very useful feedback - because I wasn't sure I'd got it right this time - the grain has pretty much disappeared. Once the thing is closed up it'll all be academic anyway  ::) there are a few pieces of the Uschi grain decals in there - but you'd have to look with a magnifying glass to see them..

I'm just finishing the seat and HGW harness - I'll try and post some pictures later today. I know I keep banging on about the forum, but I'm enjoying my modelling so much more since I joined. I'm really enjoying taking my time and detailing - I can see now how Bo gets pleasure from his incredible attention to detail (but I'm not quite that insane yet..  ;D)

Hi,

Well, the seat's done - I haven't done a cushion, I did think about it, but ultimately, I was happy with the look of the kit seat. I'm a big fan of the HGW seatbelts - they're as good as they can be imo..

Really pleased I masked the the fuselage former joints - these are such a snug fit and, hopefully, will save a lot of effort later  :)

Thanks again for looking,

Guy

Congratulations so far Guy. I'm so pleased that you've kept the photographic record so that we'll all be able to call up the photos of the outstanding interior even when the fuselage halves have gone together and less can be seen.

Best wishes
Nigel

You're doing a super job on the build, Guy.  Nigel is right, take lots
of photos of your good work in the cockpit before you button up the
fuselage.

Cheer,
Ernie :)
