WnW Bristol F.2b
« on: May 03, 2012, 10:23:21 PM »
This is a kit I built some time ago and in my honest opinion is the best of all the Wingnut kits they have released. I thoroughly enjoyed building this model, the rigging and control wires are a bit complex but overall it is a beautifully engineered kit, the engine is a kit on it's own and could quite easily be displayed separately.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Museum quality work Des! What a beauty.

Cheers,

Chris

Thank you for putting this beauty up again for us, Des.  I remember watching her come together on the 'drome and thinking, "I need one of those!"  It was the first urge to build anything other than 1/48 I'd ever felt.  She's truly stunning, mate.  I'm in awe of the entire build, but I think what struck me most is how neat your ignition bundle looks.
Cheers,
Bud

Des,

Fantastic work on display again from the master model builder!

I've always chickened out of building any of the two seaters as they seem (to me anyway) much more complicated in terms of general build and especially the rigging.  In addition, I could never match the standard of workmanship from yourself and others here.   I do like the look of the Bristol fighter though.

  Des,
First off this is one oustanding project my old friend. Like Bud I remember following this awesome build thread over at the Ol'Drome and being impressed with your Master craftsmanship and modeling skills then as well as now. Thanks for roll the Ol'Girl out of the hanger again.
Highest Regards,

Des,
   Magnificent!
Epitome of "clean" and truly Museum quality. I really like the engine and interior detail. You are a Master Builder, some of us build nice models but your work is really something to aspire to. Well done!
Cheers,
Lance

Geez!

Puts my little Bristol to shame.  I just love the prop and the undersurfaces.  Extremely well done.  I've seen this on your site before and drooled continuously.  :P

Thanks for posting.

beautiful work Des.  In particular, I'm a fan of your work on the engines.  I must confess that I stole liberally from your tutorial when I did my Se5a.  Mine didn't come out quite as nicely, but it was better than I'd done before.

Thanks for all your hard work getting your builds and tutorials on the web.  They are truly an invaluable resource!

It’s grand to be part of a group where the driving force is a Master Craftsman. I’m beginning to think it would be fun to have all the beautiful builds here turned into framed pictures with credit to each builder and placed on a wall of fame. Sort of a personal Philip Makanna type Ghosts of the Great War display in miniature.

Marvelous work Des!
