I'll jump on that instrument panel bandwagon myself. Very, very well done.

Cheers,

Chris

James, I noticed in your post over in Bob V Buckles Pfalz build you are also doing one
only in blue as shown...

I really like this shade. Could your tell me what kind of paint and number this is?

Aside from the gorgeous Fokker DVII here, It would be super to see the progress
on your Pfalz D.III.

My apologies for semi-hijacking your build log.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Brilliant start, James.  Those instrument panels are luscious.

On my current builds I built the cockpit tub separate and slid it in after assembling the fuselage halves. You have to sand the panel behind the seat slightly and champher the upper and lower corners of the tub assembly and I took the chance to sand off all the little lumps bumps and brackets off the outer faces of the framework.

Thinning the stubs for the ammo and spent belt containers helped too I now have a unit that slips in and out easily. The way WNW produced the upper cowl/coaming to me seems rather illogical. I've took a sliver off each side of the fuselage and added the lip that is so obvious in all pics of the cockpit area. This gives the desired lip and is a natural divide between fuselage fabric and metal cowls after all. Not the edge as WNW have done.

Cutting off the fuel gauge and adding once the fuselage is assembled can be a help too.
