I got my WNW Felixstowe (early) in the mail today! Having 3 sons to go together on a gift for dad works out. And I have a Special Hobby Bristol M1c on the way. Months of modeling enjoyment.

I wish I hadn't seen that.

No kidding Rob.  :(

Well, I was a good boy this year.  :D  I got:

- Two WNW kits: Sopwith Pup and SE5
- Blaine Pardoe's bio on Bert Hall
- Volumes 2 & 3 of the Blue Max series
- A fifth of good bourbon
- A nice set of glasses to drink said bourbon (and the bottle of ten year old scotch SWMBO received from her sister.)  ;)

I gave myself a present too. Eduard had a great Black Friday sale, so in the one, true, divine scale, I bought:
- Three of the late SPAD XIII Profipack kits (I LOVE the scheme with the spider web on the fuselage and the spider on the turtledeck!)
- One of the Albatros D.V Profipack double kits
- The new iteration of their Fokker Dr.I stripdown

And I'm waiting on some decals from Rowan and Sabine to arrive.

Life is good.

this box is quite scarce and it was cheap in E-bay so...

Xan, I absolutely love the series of Nieuports that Eduard made, I just wish that along with their Nie.17 & 23 they would have scaled down their Nie.11 & 16 too.

Good on you for getting those!

Christmas present from my beloved.  Can't wait to get started on it.  The Modelkasten rigging arrived on the 26th.  This stuff is awesome.  Round cross section so there are no issues with twisting, a bit stiffer than EZ line so it's easier to thread and I like the color.

Cheers,
Bud

Nice one Bud!  I had no idea that Modelkasten makes rigging now. Where do you (or y'all) get yours?

Hey, Warren!  I get mine at Hobby Link Japan, or HLJ.

It's actually fine enough for 1/72 scale, but you can get it even finer for rigging 1/350 scale ships.
Cheers,
Bud

Great present from your wife Bud, looking forward to seeing you start this one. The rigging line looks interesting, I will have to look into it.

Wow, I just placed an order with them for some off topic a/c. Too bad, I could have had them put some in the box!

Add me to the list of delighted Felixstowe owners!  Picked mine up at the PO today.

We've seen the photo of the Felix box compared to the Gotha's, but for those who don't have the latter, here's a shot with a typical WNW 2-seater kit.

The most telling though is this shot of the main wing sprue posed with my WNW LVG - no small model itself!

Yup, it's a big one.   :)

Cheers,
Eric

Yep. Mine arrived today as well. Did the "happy dance" in the Post Office to the consternation of a few patrons.

Hello All

I've just ordered the beautiful WNW SE.5a (which I notice has been promoted to their website home page, maybe signifying something.......?)

Having long had one already, it means that I can begin work on it  as soon as I finish the D.VII, and still have another in the stash. It will give me the chance to try out the surface finishes released by Richard at team AVIATTIC as well as the gorgeous Pheon decals I tucked away for a rainy day. Besides, with all this recent blaze of Fokker colour I'm having withdrawal symptoms for PC10/12.

Best wishes and happy New Year
Nigel

Hello Nigel,

The SE5a was the very first build I did. It is a lovely aircraft and its beauty is growing being further and further in the build. Very good choice my friend!

Kind regards
Patrick

I have to say that this comparison photo really brings home to me just how big the Felix is. When I built my LVG or any other WnW two seater for that matter, I thought they were large models but this thing is absolutely massive.

Cheers,

Chris
