I've just bought a part-built Roden Sopwith Triplane on Ebay for £17

I have just prised it apart, next stop is £500 of after market bits....

Actually, I've had a bit of a think. It seems the fuselage is 6mm too short, only being 'correct' for the two prototypes, like N500.

N500 is rather an attractive aeroplane in CDL

I might even get away without swapping the engine

Richard, there is a resin replacement fuselage available here

Maybe this might give you some more options.

Thanks Dave. I'm familiar with Brian's fuselages, they're a lovely piece of work. Only being a perverse kind of guy, I quite fancy making one of the only aeroplanes the kit actually matches

And N500 isn't PC10, which pleases me a lot!

No worries Richard. I'll admit N500 does look nice in CDL and definitely a change from PC12. I'm very partial to the tripehound and I was rather miffed to miss out on the WNW one so Roden is the only option for building one for me unless WNW happen to rerelease it (hint, hint WNW if you're listening ;D) so I'll be watching your build eagerly.

I built the Roden kit when it was first released and did it as the prototype, turned out looking pretty good. Full build log can be found here; http://www.ww1aircraftmodels.com/page19.html

Pheon Decals ordered.
I'm looking forward to laying my hands all over them.

That's a great kit Des. I built one when they first came out and have 2 more to do. There is aftermarket for it but I found it to be great as it was. Only place where I have seen people have issues is the wing root and some say the step is too big.
The one I did.

Thanks to Pheon Decals and RAGIII...  ;D

Bought this 1/32 F.I (cheap!) from a Polish vendor at today's ESM (Dutch IPMS nationals). Not a bad kit I think... and it's tiny! :)
My youngest boy (3) loved it -it's got eyes painted on it and 3 wings!
