So pleased to receive these beautiful Aviattic sheets this morning!
Decided I needed to plan ahead for various projects. Only thing I would have gone for, if it was available, is some of that very pretty WW1 German Irregular Painted "Night Lozenge" 4 colour in 1/72 scale. I realise Richard has to use cool business judgement when deciding what to print, so I'll just say, I'd buy it if Aviattic ever produced it.
Anyway, back to these - aren't we unbelievably fortunate to have this all this? Just one example: the difference between the hand painted and printed Naval hex is so subtle in 1/72, but it's there and it's lovely to appreciate.
As a side thought, it's more and more strange to me that no manufacturer seems to want to fill the 1/32 Fokker D.VII void left by WNW, when there's a proven market for such a thing, and loads of tasty aftermarket around. I mean, WNW may well bring out D.VII superkits, but it seems to me that still leaves scope for a mid-range kit... Oh well. I have my one stached kit, and I'd better make the most of it!
While I like forward to a very special Italian-flavoured parcel from Aviattic in the near future :)

I have FINALLY got around to ordering the WNW Felixstowe early option.

When this was launched, I decided that whilst I could afford the kit, I couldn't justify the expense in one go.  So I started to save £2 coins.  I now have £180 - which is about what the kit would have cost had the £/$ exchange rate not plummeted in recent times.  Now I need about £213 plus EU VAT and delivery, so I need about another £90.  That may mean saving coins for another year, so I couldn't risk the kit selling out.

So on the basis that I have saved the original purchase price, I went ahead and ordered.  With the new Weta distribution, I should get the kit within a week...

Now, what place will this get in the stash queue??

Des I'm looking forward to seeing that Model T ambulance....my Grandfather was an Army Sevice Corps driver in Dar es Salaam in WWI and I remember him saying he crashed "one of the first American ambulances" thry received...it was left hsnd drive and he forgot about the spare wheel mounted on the opposite side when he turned into the hospital. The spare hit the wall and took it down!

Hi Ian, I have the alternate airfix kit for that bus in civilian colours.  The original (perhaps restored of course) is in the London Transport museum.

That's the one, Des!   I bought one of those in the shop at Shuttleworth, this summer during one of the events there.

This arrived today, from the Weta distribution centre in Holland.  I only ordered this on Saturday night and it has arrived, safely, at my house in less than 4 whole days!

I dare you to open it and start building!

Opened, yes.  Building, not just yet - I am happy to do it but have got something to finish first, then a more simple model to actually finish something quickly!!
