I happen to know we have several "World Class" AFV Modellers here, perhaps Chris or Gary could provide a basic Tutorial on Weathering Techniques for AFV's to you adventurers........ ;)
Cheers,
Lance

I, for one, would love a good AFV weathering tutorial! This is all new territory to me, but that's what I like about it.

Thanks for the link, Des. I just finished watching his tutorials. It may be a bit heavier weathering than I'd like to add to my models, but he has some very useful techniques.

Well I went to the big city yesterday to get some paint,  along with my son and my friend James, and ended up with more than paint lol.
Then today the mail lady arrived which surprised me completely because there isn't supposed to be mail delivery on Sundays. So minus the paints here is what I got.

The book was bought for the new WNW kit and I was really surprised at how fast it arrived.

James, that was really fast! The B.II was announced only a few days ago! Where did you order the book from?

I took a look on Amazon.ca as soon as I saw the kit and ordered the book. The Windsock books were too expensive so ordered them from Windsock so I think I should be ready for the kit.
On another note I  search ebay for a Spad XIII and thought they were rare. The store we went to yesterday had about 10 of each and they were cheap. Only $19.95 with the second one half price, so got 2. Now I can do 2 of the Frank Luke schemes :)

James, another question; I ordered the WS Datafile for the D.II. Do you think I would also need the book you just bought as well? I'm finding it for around $35 USD, but I'm not sure I would need both books. What do you think, would it be redundant to get both?

Hi George. I am not sure. I have ordered the Windsock title as well but dont expect to see it for another 3 or so weeks. I can tell you this onew has close up pictures from 2 museum birds covering engine and partial interior. There is a one page write up on the Mercedes engine and about 5 pages of line drawings. Finally there is a photo history of original photos. The back inside cover has 4 colour profiles. Personally I am happy with it. I can not comment on whether one or the other would be enough though, sorry about that.

Thanks, James. I'll just have to bite the bullet and order a copy. After all, we can't have too much reference! :)

I received my WNW gift from my OLD friend! Jasta 11 Gabriel, or Jasta 4 Udet Du Doch Nicht, or if I am convinced Du Doch Nicht is an OAW DVII trade for the OAW kit? So Many Decisions:

I couldn't help myself. I had to break into my B.II

It's impressive. The tail surfaces are the thinnest I've seen, the wood decals look great, and the nail detail on the fuse is beyond anything out there. This kit may cost a few more bucks, but it's a real winner!

Now I have to put it back in the box... :'(
