WnW 1:32 Hisso done
« on: July 12, 2013, 08:12:52 PM »
I have to admit that I never felt so lost with a project. I knew I wanted to break up the PC10 with some color variation because I was afraid that she would be boring if I wouldn't. I didn't have a clue where to go with this but this is how she turned out, and I'm pretty happy with the results. Just as with my Fokker DVII I experimented a little with different finishes - matts, satins and gloss, and it is something I very likely will be keeping on doing because I like the effects. I'm glad she's done now. I hope you enjoy the pics, all comments welcome as usual. Happy modeling, Jeroen.

This is the first time I have seen a finish like this but in total honesty it looks excellent, you have achieved a remarkable result which gives the model an overall realistic appearance, this is how to make a boring scheme look non-boring, very well done.

A brilliant piece of craftsmanship!  Among the best SE.5 models I've ever seen. ;D  The overall finish is perfection-- visually interesting, subtle and very realistic, IMO.  Very well done Jeroen!

I'll look back through this thread to see if you've described the painting technique in detail (I just can't recall without looking  ;)).  If not, it would be very helpful to us to hear more details about how you achieved this remarkable finish.  Great job!  You've managed to make the SE.5 into a starlet. ;D

Regards,

Bob

That would have to be the most interesting boring scheme I've seen.

Hi praise, indeed! I couldn't agree more. Beautiful finish, Jeroen.

Gents, thank you so much for the kind words. This is one of those models I wasn't overly confident about (still not) but your comments make me believe I did a quite acceptable job. That is truly a good feeling and I thank you for that. Cheers, Jeroen
