I witness so many gross lapses in judgment by other motorists during my daily commutes to and from work that I am forced to conclude that the lack of mental capacity is not limited to pedestrians. Pedestrians that fail to observe traffic laws and exercise sound judgment are likely to kill/injure only themselves. The same can't be said for motorists.

Hi Rob,
yes,couldn't agree with you more there too.I drive a large truck for a living and it surprises me daily that there are not even more serious injury and collisions.Incidents are now at such a level that the company I work for is considering fitting the whole fleet of trucks with CCTV cameras for insurance purposes.There are several companies in the UK who now fit these cameras already to provide evidence if an incident involving vehicles or pedestrians has to go to court.

I've come to loathe driving and try to do it as little as possible. I bought a new car in March and hope it is the last one I ever own. Ideally, I'll be able to retire to an area of the USA that has better developed public transportation than where I currently live (Southern California).
