G'day from Melbourne Australia
« on: June 21, 2013, 12:47:44 PM »
Greetings

I've gotten back into modelling about 2 years ago when my son was born. I quit smoking and drinking and needed something to keep my mind off smoking and drinking. Modelling is the perfect outlet. Needless to say, I've been smoke and drink free ever since.

I love WW2 aircraft and armour, but have recently fallen in love with WW1 aircraft. They truly were works of mechanical art! The painting schemes and patterns are fantastic and I enjoy the challenge to reproduce them. I have Just completed a Fokker E V by Eduard and found it extremely enjoyable. Currently, I am working on an Albatros D.III OEFFAG 253 by Eduard. I hope to get a few Wingnut Wings models soon. Just a couple months until my birthday :-)

I will try to post regularly once I get comfortable with using the features of this forum. (my first)

Cheers to all

Welcome aboard Fred. You and I appear to have similar likes and experiences. I too like modelling AFVs and WWII aircraft and I've been smoke and drink free for 30 years now.

Cheers,

Chris

Welcome to the Forum Fred; it amazes me how many of our members also dabble in the AFV subject and WWII as well. More time on this Site should cure you of that affliction! ;) ;)
Cheers,

Here is my first attempt at a WW1 aircraft.

Eduard Fokker E. V 1/48. I choose it for simplicity compared to other types. I used .007 guitar string for rigging. I missed 2 of The Bumblebee color stripes on fuselage. I still enjoyed the build and I will try another with a bit more patience next time.

Thanks guys  :) I hope to produce some quality aircraft, the likes seen on this forum! Some are just amazing. And yes Bo,  I managed to get the wing on with minimal frustration but i will definitely need some sort of jig for the biplanes i will be building.
