Thank you all for your kind words of support.  I went back to the specialist last Tuesday for a follow up appointment. He told me that the biopsy report showed that the infection I had was a staphylococcus strain and was extremely dangerous, he said it was life threatening, if left for a few more days it would have spread into my neck. So, I am very lucky to be here, I must thank my local GP for acting so quickly to organise the CT and to arrange an appointment to see the ENT specialist, and also the ENT specialist for treating me so quickly.

Just came across this Des.  I am so happy that things
turned out good for you.  Hope you are well on the way
to being back to normal by now.

Best wishes.

Thanks Ernie, I am back to 100% again, it was a bit of a scare but it all worked out well in the end.  :) :)
