Meet Josef Mai 1917
« on: June 05, 2013, 08:35:28 PM »
Hi
Just got the new Stormtrooperīs Josef Mai bust. Itīs an big one and a very fine work done by Igor Danilkin. The casting is done in a grey resin and the pieces are very sharp and crisp so the details are very neat. The clean up job would not take that long before you can the "rattlecan" with primer working on it.

The box art is done by Javier Gonzales and you can follow his work here on the bust.

Itīs a sturdy box and a painting instruction is enclosed. you got three big pieces of resin, that's all ???

Did I say its big? Check the can of Humbrol paint.

This one will be tasty to get painted, and Iīm planning to use my airbrush for the bigger areas on this one.
Highly recommended if you are like me, also in to figure painting that is.
I order it direct from stormtrooperminiatures.co.uk, using paypal and the bust was home in a week so Iīm just hoping that Mr Igor D could be sculpting some more WW1 ace for a collection.
You can see this one be painted later this summer on the net

Nice looking figure. I may search that one out. Looks to be based on the photo of Mai leaning on his DVII. A 1/32 full fig would be nice too.

Yes - it has expression, not just a blank look.

Actually a little creepy even :) Sort of like Chucky...

But yeah, it is brilliantly done, the clothing folds and textures are fabulous too

yep, itīs got attitude for sure 8)As I understand sculpting a personality is/are a real tuff one for the sculptors but I must say this one is good.

And I would like to see this one in 32-scale too beside a real nice build up Albatros, but that's up  to someone else to do. Iīll be back when its time to load up the airbrush, I think that the Diorama thread would be fine to show the work or?
