Phonix D.II-SH, 1:48
« on: June 02, 2013, 08:45:08 PM »
Here we have some K.u.K.  Phonix D.II from Flik 55J flown by Oblt. Eduard Ritter von Hebra.
In order to perform replica quite close to those from the beggining of last century, I have made the use of  D.III photos from Swedish airforce Museum, Linköping.
Enjoy ;)

Superb finish and attention to detail. Great choice of subject too. The flare pistol and cartridge rack is an interesting (and well executed) touch. How did you do the camouflage?

I certainly agree with RB and Rob H- that's a beautiful Phonix. I truly admire your results with what certainly appears to be a potentially troublesome build when I look in the box. I'm sure the kit is fine, but there are parts that look a little rough and your build is "Eduard clean". Excellent work!

  Krzysiek,
I'm in AWE my old friend. Magnificent camouflage application. Beautiful build in total and great touch adding the flare gun.

thanks for your so flattering comments ;D
technique was same as TRB suggested. Some sponge and Vallejo cooperation taken and LC clear satin as varnish implemented.
SC is rather rough in assembly and was unexpected surprise after dealing with Eduard, nevertheless the amount of errors is rather low and with little effort you can built nice replica.

It is a very fine model. The leaf camouflage is spot on! All in all, a great piece of modelling. Congratulations, Krzysiek!

I can only echo, what everyone else has said; that is a great looking Phonix. I particularly like the flare gun, nice touch.
