Its blowing a gale and minus 2C here tonight, so no outdoor pics yet. I'll post some more and then I am starting another, using Rowan's new Decals!

Very nice build, I'm torn between this scheme and the Russian one for my build its just the lack of weathering on this one that puts me off.

Did you have any issues with the build.

I'm currently working through mine at the moment (just completed the cockpit structure) and intend to build the 1924 Hawkinge squadron markings version.

Love it!! As much as I love all things WWI the inter war stuff is flashy!! I would build this one too. You did a great job on her. What a sharp looking bird - well ok blunt but sharp!!!!!

I weathered mine to look as it did before being replaced by gamecocks. They are all weathered, just some get cleaned for photos.

The build is remarkably straightforward bar the tail skid and telescopic sight which are fiddly buggers. The decals are great with Microsoft/ sol.

I have broken out the next to do Rowans option 5.

Enjoy it. I'll post better snaps when the sun finally arrives, brrrr.

Beautiful work Dave, the colour certainly changes the whole eappearance of the aeroplane. She sure is striking with the red and white on the silver, well done.

The Snipe was replaced by the Grebe in September 1924 and was the first RAF Squadron to be fully equipped with them. 56 didn't have the Gamecock but 19 (blue/white checks) and 43 (black/white) did - and given the black and white photos of the time it's an easy slip! I'd give some valuable (if time-expired) organs for a Wingnut Wings Grebe or Gamecock..... Looking forward to seeing "Option 5" done to your standard . The stickers should be ready to go out very soon now.

Looks like we're getting your cast-off NE winds in Brittany - snow is forecast for tonight - and I thought we'd escaped the worst of it. That'll teach me! April? Schmapril.

Still want to do the M1 - most of the work is done I just need to recover some spondooliks from the last batch of printing before sending off any more - or I'll fall foul of the Bodmin debt collectors - fearsome rough buggers they be!

You must have started this one as soon as it landed on your doorstep! Nice work on the silver dope finish, what a beauty.  Did you encounter any challenges with alignment given the two-bay design?  Very inspiring build!

Actually no. The wing was easier than the albatros. The whole  kit is a generation ahead. The cabane struts and undercarriage have heavy pins to secure them and the wing struts can't be transposed.
