I have just got back from the Classic Fighters airshow at Omaka and thought I should share the latest news from Wingnut Wings







Yes the Fokker DVIIF was available for sale

They had a preproduction kit of the post war Bristol F2B:

They also had a post war Ninack with extra radiator, spare wheel slats for the wings and more













And a built up Salmson bomber which looked amazing

Brilliant news on the post-war Bristol and Ninack in particular - I have just been working on some post-war markings for both and had restricted myself to those not equipped with the extra radiators etc - now almost all (apart from the "hump-backed" Ninack) can be done. No Wing Slats for the Bristol seems strange - maybe we'll see those in the kit as well?

Many thanks for the report James. Were there any hints on when we can expect the Salmson or the postwar DH9A and F2B kits?

Also any clues on possible schemes for the Bristol Fighter? I'm hoping maybe a NZ Permanent Air Force option may be included?

Wingnut Wings don't 'do' hints unfortunately. As I recall, Wingnut Wings had a preproduction build of the Sopwith Triplane at the previous Classic Fighters airshow in 2011, so it could be a year or more before the Salmson comes out, but I am only guessing. They are Kiwi modelling enthusiasts so if an RNZAF markings option for the Bristol F2B is consistent with the parts options I would imagine they'll include it. I'll post scans some pics of the Fokker DVIIF kit tomorrow, and the decal set I bought for it. Off to bed now.

I wouldn't have purchased either the Brisfit or Ninak Great War kits, but will have to have BOTH Silverwings versions (as with the "Post-War" Snipe).
Is this trend just a logical off-shoot of late-war RAF types, or is WnW testing the waters of potential demand for 20's-30's RAF kites? The Montex kits are gorgeous, but just a tad out of my price range, and I much prefer good old styrene to resin.

Not sure if I'll buy the 'silver wings kits' as I actually prefer WW1 planes but that Salmson will be an absolute must buy.

Except for the Salmson the next releases are not much in my interest but thats cool - I have more than enough to build and my wallet can use a break after the last release rush from WNW.

Have to say though wow the Salmson looks fantastic - figuring maybe that will be a Christmas release this year?

Silver Wings and the Salmson, wonderful, but we should not underestimate the Fokker E.I and E.IV! (Me, I am especially looking foreward to the E.IV.)
No matter what WNW brought, brings, or will bring onto our desks - I was always fond of their choices so far.
