Albatros D.V. | 1/48 Eduard
« on: March 19, 2013, 03:20:47 AM »
Hello all :)
This is my first post here. This will be an quick build of MvR's Albatros D.V. 1/48 Eduard.
Finished cockpit OOB, painted the fuselage gloss white for base for plywood effect with oils.

Painted with Tamiya's clear paints (yellow, orange etc...)

I added some details with home made parts on the wings

White primer before red :)

See you next update

Greetings from Turkiye

Very nice work!  Welcome to the forum. ;D  Please tell us about those homemade rib tapes and radiator.  How did you make those?

Regards,

Bob

Thank you :)

Of course :) Design and etching parts for my own models is my second hobby. Not high quality but enough for me...

Very nice. I am looking forward to your proceedings, especially for painting the plywood fuselage, and for fixing the landing gear.

Kind regards,
Stefan

I too shall be following with much interest, having recently decided to try I picked up one of these DV's. Opened the box and was immediately terrified by how small everything was.
I've opened it, closed it, picked it up and put it down again - even started to play with it a little, but secretly thought it might be a scale too far ?
I wish you had posted yours from stage one so I could see how you went about the interior - but never the less, I'm sure I'll draw a lot of confidence from watching yours take shape.

Cheers..............

Thank you guys :)

Nothing special interior Andi. Painted with Tamiya desert yellow and oils. I made some interior parts for 1/48 but not used with this. These are from my endless Albatros D.III :(

I just tried radiators and rib tapes what i need for Roden's Albatros D.I to D.II. All other things from the box.  I will fix only the landing gear struts.

Best Regards
Rahmi

Beautiful start, Rahmi!  It's great to see you here.  Could you please do us all a great favor and post photos of your exquisite WNW Turkish D.V in the completed models section?  If this one turns out half as sweet as that one, we're all in for a treat.
Cheers,
Bud

Rahmi:

I second Bud's request for your Turkish Albatros D.V!  I have seen it elsewhere on the web, and IMO it is one of the best Alby models I have seen anywhere. ;D  Thanks!

Regards,

Bob

Thanks for the tip on the light tent! I just saw somewhere else someone showed how they take model photos in a tent. I dismissed it, thinking it would be too expensive. Then you post this tip. That's great!

Welcome to the forum, Rahmi!
