A conversion chart for scratchbuilders
« on: April 26, 2012, 08:55:36 AM »
This may be of some help: 1/32 Conversion Chart

The instructions for use are on the last page. I can also supply the "source" document, that is if people want it. This will enable you enter in a scale and have the appropriate conversions performed. That is, if I remember where I left it...

Hope it helps,

Trevor

You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.

Doing my Voisin scratch build I have had to do a lot of calculations, this chart will be very useful for the remainder of the build, thank you Trevor for posting .

I've now found the "live" excel file. All you have to do is change the value of cell D2 to the denominator of the scale you are working in. Anyway, here is the MS Excel conversion file.

Hope it helps,

Trevor

Ah...  I'm very sorry I don't have dimensions for drills smaller than No.80. To be honest, I thought the system stopped at 80. But I now find it continues up to No. 97. If I find out what the numbers are, I'll put them in. As for BA, it stands for British Association. Basically it was our attempt at 'metrification' but using imperial measurements. Nowadays it's only really used in the small nuts and bolds used by modellers.
