Hello,
Once upon a time I managed to buy Herman Goering’s Fokker D.VIIF for decent price. However, the white outfit somehow effectively discouraged me to start the next WWI struggle until I found the article regarding VII BI BA BO written by Wojciech Sankowski.
Then I knew that the polish checker will appear...
Fokker VII with serial number 7614/18, the late Fokker Flugzeugwerke production under the number 503/18 in Polish Air Force,  equipped with 160 hp engine of the Mercedes DIII serial number 36723,  that what I am going to do in the near future.
I have started with motor bay. As  I'm going to unveil some engine features decided to scratch motor seat, where the Mercedes was spotted.
Engine cover vents were opened little bit but in general it is not well visible..

The choice of Polish Bi-Ba-Bo instead of Goering's white can only be congratulated!

Unfortunately I am not able to find any information confirming unpainted wood on the inner sides of the fuselage as was suggested by Eddie. I did not find any info concerning other finish as well  .... I leave as it is.






Seat belts had to figure out by myself




Fuselage ready to close, Taurus Spandau guns will be adjusted later on.

Well, well now the story becomes more complicated…
I know that D.VIIs late were covered by lozenge with optionally fuselage painted.  However, in this particular 7614/18 the new thread appears, which seems to be quite interesting…
Polish colleagues certainly have heard about the polish blockbuster movie from  1930 titled "Gwiazdzista Eskadra", which copies have not survived to the present time, and certainly have not been found till present days. However, there are some photos, and I found one of them really interesting:

I'm going to take a fair / unfair hypothesis that during the Polish-Bolshevik war D.VIIF BI-BA-BO was wearing such a uniform.

Very cool photo, K!  I really like that streaking.  What colors would you expect?  Do you think that was an operational scheme, or one used for the movie?  Either way would make a great model.

I'm really liking the Polish schemes for these WWI aircraft used post-war.  Neat stuff! ;D

Krzysiek if you like, you can paint with streaking scheme, but on yours photo, in my opinion, this plane is painted on three colors camouflage and lather was painted on streaking camouflage. Three color scheme  in Polish Air Force was introduced in 1924.
First German Fokkers D VII till 380/18 was painted on streaking camouflage. Lather all planes has lozenge zcheme.
All this data I found in this book - Fokker D.VII The lethal weapon, Tomasz Kowalski Marek Ryś, by Kagero.
I found there also picture of the same airplane (530/18) staying on the nose and there is also visible streaking camouflage on lower side of wings, such painting was newer used in Germans airplanes.

Hello Krzysiek:

Nice work on the seat and the belts.  It looks like you did them "the old fashioned way" with masking tape.  Nicely done.

Paint schemes from the era you are modeling are pretty sketchy.  Unless you have drawings or data to document colors with certainty you are pretty much on your own.  Even Rown Broadbents Pheon Decal instructions always state the colors are based on the best knowledge available at the time but can be speculative.
Good luck with your model and remember to have fun and that whatever scheme you do it in, it will probably be neat.
