British SS Class Airship 1/72 scale
« on: July 26, 2026, 11:51:37 PM »
A scary number of years ago I made an SS Class Airship out of fibreglass and a Czechmaster Resin BE2.c. This unfortunately got damaged not long after its completion and has remained in a box in the attic since. This is a re build rather than one form scratch. It just makes sense to use the damaged but repairable BE2.c that cost a fair bit when I bought it (even though Airfix now make one much cheaper now). I cannot see any way I can use any of the envelope even though it is in reasonable shape. This is because the build was fundamentally flawed. The Czechmaster Resin BE2.c is fragile yet the envelope that was made out of papier mashe and fibreglass is very heavy. All it would take to destroy it was one fall and that's what happened. I have since then learned how to make things out of insulation foam which is extremely light. It took one and a half years to make the original one, I hope to get this done in less than a year. I will still carry on with RSS Discovery as a secondary project.

Thanks for looking in, Alan.
I heard that it all started when a bloke called Archie Duke shot an ostrich 'cause he was hungry!
